WHY IT BEGAN

At HERE YOU BELONG, we focus on helping underrepresented topics, areas and people tell their real story, completely unfiltered through documentary and strategically planned multimedia techniques. Sharing your stories is powerful, it helps you to communicate with others and allows you to unlock your true selves that we often keep hidden from society. Forget over stylized staged media, we focus on real reactions, creative content and tell your story by capturing it in the raw moment. If you are ready to tell your REAL story you're in the right place. We use our skills in film, multimedia, business and content strategy to help bring the community closer together and to help make passions self-sufficient.

The Meadows Community Centre is based in Meadowell, North Shields it is a fantastic centre, worth a visit, filled with friendly and talented people. The centre has everything you need: free wifi, affordable food (produce grown from their garden), amazing facilities including a music production studio, games room, dance studio, IT rooms, gardens and a food bank. We are working closely with the centre to help increase brand awareness and to highlight the brilliant community atmosphere through multimedia. We have been working with the centre since January and we can't wait to share more soon.

Our Partnership
Our Story
Founded by formally trained filmmakers and friends Gaby Zak & Kelly Hodgkiss when we noticed a need for REAL content. The North East has a sense of community that is irreplaceable, we primarily operate in North Tyneside the friendly attitude that instantly makes you feel at home.
We focus on using multimedia to highlight issues, controversial topics and talent within the North East. Increasing brand awareness and helping local businesses become self-sufficient through the power of documentary storytelling, photography and content strategies that highlight positive social impact within the communities.
Kelly’s first experience in North Shields was back in 2014 training at a small acting and film school. Then working as a community manager within the local community; helping unlock additional funding for community centers, charities and grassroots sports and arts clubs.
This was when Kelly realised these businesses in deprived areas did not have the funds to promote themselves to a wider audience - bringing Gaby along with her photography/videography background - We met at filmmaking society and worked together at University, both studying Media Production.

Our vision is to help the North East communities feel visible, communities like North Shields community have been neglected for many years and the purpose of our documentaries is to help those who feel unseen share their personal unique stories.

We aim to impact the local community through unique stories that connect people together through shared experiences, to help and support each other through situations that could leave people feeling isolated or alone. Positively impacting community wellbeing.
